Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how VibeCheck collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our text-message based face-search and link-unlock service. If you do not want your information processed as described here, do not use VibeCheck.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide, information generated by your use of VibeCheck, and information from our providers.

  • Contact and messaging identifiers: your phone number, chat identifiers, message identifiers, sender platform, opt-out status, and related messaging metadata.
  • Submitted content: photos, message text, replies, reactions, and attachments you send to VibeCheck.
  • Face-search data: image hashes, uploaded image storage keys, search identifiers, possible match scores, domains, public source URLs, preview images, rendered result cards, and raw result metadata.
  • Payment and subscription data: checkout URLs, purchase type, amount, currency, payment status, payment provider identifiers, refund status, and weekly plan status.
  • Usage, security, and support data: web requests, device/browser information when you visit our site, logs, audit events, errors, admin/support actions, and diagnostics.

We encrypt phone numbers and source URLs at rest where supported by the service architecture. We index phone numbers by HMAC hash so we can recognize a returning phone number without storing that index in plaintext.

2. Sensitive and Biometric Information

Face photos and data derived from face-search workflows may be considered biometric information, biometric identifiers, sensitive personal information, or similar regulated information under some laws. We use this information to provide search results, prevent abuse, troubleshoot, secure the service, process unlocks, honor deletion requests, and comply with law. We do not sell this information, and we do not use submitted photos to build a VibeCheck face-recognition database. Face-search providers may process submitted photos using visual similarity or related technologies to return possible public web matches.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • receive and validate photos and messages;
  • run face-search workflows and generate preview cards;
  • create checkouts, process payments, activate weekly plans, fulfill unlocks, and issue refunds;
  • send transactional messages, support replies, redeliver recent unlocks, and honor STOP and DELETE commands;
  • detect abuse, enforce our Terms, protect users and third parties, and secure the service;
  • debug, monitor, measure, and improve reliability and performance; and
  • comply with legal, accounting, tax, dispute, fraud-prevention, and safety obligations.

4. How We Disclose Information

We disclose information to the following categories of recipients:

  • Messaging providers that send and receive iMessage, SMS, MMS, reaction, media, typing, and delivery events.
  • Face-search providers that process submitted photos and return possible public web matches.
  • Payment providers that host checkout, process Apple Pay/card payments, manage subscriptions, handle refunds, and process disputes.
  • Hosting, storage, rendering, logging, analytics, email, authentication, and security providersthat help us operate the service.
  • Legal, safety, and compliance recipients when we believe disclosure is required or appropriate to comply with law, enforce our Terms, prevent harm, investigate abuse, protect rights, or respond to legal process.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not knowingly share submitted face photos or search results for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Retention and Deletion

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing unlock redelivery, preventing abuse, resolving disputes, maintaining security, and meeting legal, tax, accounting, and payment obligations.

Reply DELETE from the same phone number you used with VibeCheck to request deletion of stored search images, preview images, rendered result cards, and related search/result lookup records tied to that phone number where feasible. We may retain limited records that we need for payment, refund, tax, dispute, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, audit, backup, and abuse-prevention purposes.

Deleting data from VibeCheck does not remove images, pages, or profiles from public websites, third-party search indexes, payment providers, carriers, messaging providers, or other services we do not control. To remove content from those services, you must use their removal, takedown, privacy, or support processes.

Reply STOP to opt out of VibeCheck messaging. We may retain your phone hash and opt-out status so we can honor that request.

6. Your Privacy Choices

  • Do not send a photo if you do not want it processed.
  • Reply STOP to stop messages.
  • Reply DELETE to request deletion of stored search assets tied to your phone number where feasible.
  • Reply UNLOCKS to redeliver recent paid unlocks, if retained.
  • Email privacy@vibecheck.fast to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or other rights available under applicable law.

We may need to verify your request, including by asking you to confirm control of the phone number associated with the request. Some rights vary depending on where you live and may be subject to exceptions.

7. Children and Minors

VibeCheck is not for children or minors. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and you may not submit photos of children or minors. If you believe a minor's information was submitted, contact us at privacy@vibecheck.fast.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption for selected stored values, access controls, environment-secret management, webhook verification, and limited admin access. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Use

VibeCheck is operated from the United States. If you use the service from another location, you understand that information may be processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our providers operate.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be effective when posted unless it says otherwise.
